Reverend Otis L. Sample, Jr.

Reverend Otis L. Sample, Jr. was elected to serve as pastor of Mount Calvary in January 1978.
His accomplishment during his administration:

• Some major improvements to the facility were made.

• A bus and van were purchased.

• A bus ministry know as “Out Reach Mission” was organized.

• The mortgage on the land and church were paid off.

• Workshops were presented to enhance the spiritual growth of the church.

• Tithing and evangelism were instituted.

• “Pioneers Day” was instituted in 1983.

• Children’s Church was organized in 1987.

• The first orientation class for new members was organized.

• The Nurses Guild was organized.

• The Young Adult Choir was organized in 1987.

 Reverend Otis L. Sample’s tenure end in 1989 after rendering twelve years of service.
